The Importance Of Staying Motivated During Trying Times.

One of the main themes that this blog revolves around is a word coined as "perspective'. After all, the word perspective is the title of this blog, so therefore it would make sense that it would make a regular appearance on here. There is however a reason as to why I am beginning this week's topic off with the idea of what perspective means. There is something that many people refer to as "trying times" that describe the various hardships and challenges that an individual may face in their life. Now I would say that we all have been experiencing trying times over the past year and a half, but it all comes down to a person's perspective on what trying times may mean to them. Now I myself will admit that I have been experiencing trying times in recent years. I'm sure that many of you that may be reading this have as well, and I'm sure that some that happen to come across this may not be able to relate. Hey, that is okay, and I am happy for anyone that can handle themselves in a manner where certain things that may affect others doesn't so the same for them. However, for those of us that have dealt with trying times in not only recent years, but at various other times in our lives as well, finding ways to stay motivated in the midst of those times can be a daunting challenge. Despite the challenges that may come along with trying to stay motivated in trying times, it is of great importance for us to find a way to do so.

What's going on everybody? This is Brad H. back once more to bring you all another installment of 'Brad H.'s Perspective'! We are back for another installment of motivation that will hopefully help us to keep progressing in our lives. Thank you all for joining me for another topic that will likely be the last one for 2021. It is so hard to believe that we have made it to the month of December once again. I just wanted to use my soapbox to express how grateful I am to everyone that have been continually coming here to read my thoughts. Even though I get a great deal of gratification and personal benefit by sharing my thoughts, knowing that there are other people in this world that find value in what I share means way more to me. I know that this has been a year where I have slacked off from how I had been doing things in the past several years, and that is something that I will likely address in the first topic for the upcoming year. However, I had quite a few personal challenges just like pretty much everyone has this year that forced me to not be as attentive to this blog. All that said, I appreciate everyone that has stuck with me, and I am hopeful that we can head into 2022 with a positive mindset. So now that I have addressed all of that and gotten on my soapbox for a bit, lets go ahead and talk about the importance of staying motivated during trying times.

So I talked in the opening about perspective and how it relates to coping with trying times. One of the reasons for me wanting to write about this topic deals with the state of our world. I pointed out earlier how the past couple of years have been challenging for so many people. Those challenges are much of the inspiration behind this. For the most part, everything that I am going to address in this post will all come down to everyone's personal perspective. Trying times will mean different things for different people, but the main theme is that we want to focus on within this topic is how to get through those tough times. Now due to the fact that trying times are going to mean different things for different people, it would make sense that motivation would also, right? For example, there are some people in this world that are able to navigate through trying times without being affected by it much. Then there are those of us that may find ourselves struggling with staying motivated during trying times. You know when you suffer a setback on something that you may be passionate about, it can be hard sometimes to maintain that desire to keep pursuing it. The latter is what we're going to be giving credence to with this topic of staying motivated during trying times.

Before going into the importance of staying motivated during trying times, I think we must first give a few examples of how to stay motivated. Staying motivated with anything is a challenge in and of itself, let alone trying to do so in an ever changing world. I pondered on this earlier this week, and here is what I was able to come up with. First off, keeping up with good habits during trying times help in keeping us motivated. A lot of times we has people use setbacks and hardships as reasons to give up. We have to stay on top of the good things in our lives regardless of what's happening. Secondly, thinking about the people that depend on you helps with motivation. No matter who you are in this world, you probably have someone or a group of people that rely on you. Maybe you have kids that rely on you, or a elderly parent, etc. For most people, letting down others that depend on them is not an option. We have to always be mindful of them despite any hardships we're facing. Finally, set some daily goals for yourself. So many of us get so caught up in having big goals that we forget that the small goals matter also. Setting small goals regardless of what they may be gives us something to look forward to daily. From my perspective, I believe this is helpful when it comes to dealing with trying times.

So I've defined what I believe trying times to be, and I've given a few techniques that I believe that help with staying motivated during trying times. So why do I believe it is of importance for us to stay motivated during trying time? The obvious answer would be that if you choose not to stay motivated, you are going to likely get swept away by life. While I believe that this is definitely true, I personally believe the importance of staying motivated during hard times stems from hard times themselves. What I mean by this is that trying times are always going to be a part of our lives for as long as we live. As long as you are breathing, you are going to be challenged by life in some way or another. Trying times are inevitable, and they are always lurking around the corner. I believe from my own perspective that finding ways to stay motivated during trying times help us to better cope with them in the future. One thing about trying times is that they come in so many ways that are often unique to us as individuals. There are going to be moments where they are tougher compared to other times, but the constant is that they are always going to exist. I believe that if there is something in this life that you can't stop completely, you have to learn how to adapt. So to sum it all up, you have to try and stay motivate during trying times because your next obstacle is always waiting for you. In order to prepare ourselves, we have to work towards staying motivated.

That is what I got for you all this time around. I hope that you all were able to take some positive away from this topic. I also hope that I presented it in a way that had meaning and understanding. I'd like to thank you all once again for stopping through for another topic on 'Brad H.'s Perspective'! Before I go, I want to thank you all once again for the continued support and feedback over this year. 2021 has been a very interesting year in so many ways. Hopefully we all make it to 2022 and it brings us much better than this year did. You all have a great rest of the weekend, and I'll see you all in 2022. Have a happy holiday season everyone! Peace out!

The Importance Of Being Able To Handle The Harsh Realities That Come With Life.

I think that we can all agree that life is truly a wonderful gift that we're all blessed to be a part of. Just think of all the centuries that have passed throughout time that we were not here. The fact that we're here in and of itself is something that should be both treasured and celebrated. I also think that we can all agree that while life is truly a wonderful gift, it can also come with its share of challenges and complications. The challenges that I'm referring to are truly immense in their nature, and are practically limitless when it comes to what they can entail. When being a part of such a wide and expansive world that has so many different people with different personalities existing, the thought of everyone being able to handle life's challenges the same is highly unrealistic. Basically, there are going to be some challenges that we're able to handle relatively easy, while there are also those that can pull us to the depths of ourselves that we'd rather not face. Regardless of how strong of a person you may be, none of us are immune to the hardships that come with life. The harsh realities of life will always exist, and this pandemic that we're currently in has probably forced many of us to ponder on some of those harsh realities. I've talked about adaptability on this blog before, and being able to handle and adapt to the harsh realities that come with life are key in winning in this life.

Welcome back everyone! Hope everyone is doing well! This is Brad H. back once again, and I'd like to welcome you all to another installment of 'Brad H.'s Perspective'! I am here to once again to hopefully bring some inspiration on a topic that I think would be helpful to us our lives. Before we get into this week's topic on the harsh realities of life, I'm going to get on my soapbox and talk about something besides the topic of the week. We all know that we have a big election happening here in the states in the next couple of weeks. I just want to encourage everyone to be aware of what is going on politically, but also take time away from it on occasion. The reason I bring this up is because I see so many people on social media these days that are constantly talking and debating others about this election. That is perfectly fine, but I believe that it is wise to not allow that stuff to consume us. Go outside and take a walk, or go and read a book that you've been putting off reading. Maybe you can watch a DVD that you've been meaning to watch. I can't tell anyone else what to do, but I would just suggest people to not allow it to consume a large portion of your day. Be aware, but be controlled with it. Now that I've said that, lets go ahead and talk about the theme of this week, which is handling the harsh realities of life.

Now what are the harsh realities of life that we often hear about as we become older? I believe a topic such as this is one where a person as an individual must define what they consider to be a harsh reality of life. When I personally think of what it means to me as an individual, I think of all the blinders that we tend to put up when it comes to living life. I think of the things that I personally would rather not think about, or things that I would rather no address head on. Now again, this is something that a person must define for themselves in their own life. However, for this week's topic I'm going to try and use a few general examples of challenges that the majority of us will have to face throughout our life's journey. The goal this week is to hopefully use this topic to inspire us to see that the things that happen in life that bring us pain and sorrow can be overcome. Furthermore, the idea is to recognize and understand that the harsh realities of life will always exist for as long as we're alive. I believe that anything that is something that will always exist is also something that we as people have to train ourselves to live with.

So what could be deemed as being reality, and why can it considered to be harsh at times? I spoke earlier about having blinders up as an attempt to see life how we would prefer, rather than for how it truly is. Remember the popular movie back in the late 90's titled 'The Matrix'? For those of you that have seen that film, you can recall how the main character in the film, Neo had been living in a false reality. It was only when he took the red pill in the film that he was able to see the real world for how it truly was. This is how it is for many of us when it comes to life. We all have certain things in this life that we would rather put blinders up on to avoid facing. So what could be an example of a reality that is considered to be harsh? The first harsh reality that I initially think of is something that we will have have to experience at some point. I'm talking about the fact that we're all going to die someday. I know that may not apply to everyone, but I think that the idea of dying creates a deal of anxiety in the majority of people. I mean we know that we all will experience it, yet we still fear it for the obvious reasons. Again, this is just one example of a harsh reality, so it isn't only limited to only death.

Having the ability to be able to handle the harsh realities that come with life can be a daunting task for people. However, from my personal perspective on this subject, the majority of us look at harsh realities in the wrong light. We try to look for ways to handle how to deal with these type of challenges, when we should actually be trying to accept them. I believe that when a person is constantly seeking ways to deal with things that aren't meant to be dealt with because they're evitable, a pattern of bad habits and addictions can develop. Then is when we begin to find ourselves looking for ways to cope. Instead of trying to cope with the hardships that come along with life, I believe that we should try to embrace them as being a part of our life journey. Just as I stated earlier in the post, life can present both its share of good, as well as its set of challenges. None of us can stop the challenges from happening, so I believe that for better or for worse, it is best to just try and embrace them. This is why I believe that it is of importance to be able to handle the harsh realities that come with life. I see this as a very important issue due to the fact that there are so many of us that are vibrating at lower frequencies by implementing bad habits.

Well that's all that I got for you all this time around. I hope that I was able to give you all something to think about with this topic. I also hope that it was able to serve as a bit of inspiration for any of you that read it. Thank you once again to everyone that came by another installment of 'Brad H.'s Perspective'! Please feel free to leave any comments or feedback if you would like. You can also hit me up on Twitter @BradrickH if you'd like. Well I hope you all have a great weekend, and stay safe out there. I'll see you all on the next topic. Take care everyone! Peace!

Real Friends Can Be Rare These Days(Being Your Own Best Friend).

I was thinking recently how many of us defined the word "friendship" while we growing up. From my own perspective, I viewed my friends from my childhood and high school days like my brothers. I never based my handful of friends on how cool or popular they were, nor how much wealth their family had, or how I could personally benefit by being friends with them. There's a principal that I had, and I still hold it to this very day; if I like you as a person, then I like you for who you are. It seems like peoples' definition of friendship has changed quite a bit just like everything else in the world. I say this because it appears that these days, coming across real friends can be a rarity. It's okay though, sometimes you have to be your own best friend. Welcome to another edition of 'Brad H.'s Perspective'.

Alright, alright what's good people? Hope everyone is doing well, staying up, and continuing to maintain. As you can tell, this week's blog post will entail my thoughts friendship, and how rare it seems it is these days to find real friends. I'm also going to briefly talk about why I think it's important to be your own best friend at times. Now as I mentioned earlier, it seems like friendship these days is just a word that people toss around like a ball. I'm not saying that this is the case with everyone. I do realize that there are people in the world that are real friends to others. In fact, I can say without a doubt that I have a couple of friends that I know are real friends to me.

So what defines a real friend to me? Well in my opinion, a true friend is a person that stands the test of time. A true friend is someone that is there for you whenever you pick up the phone to call them and if they're too busy to talk right then, they'll call you back whenever they get the chance. A true friend may not always agree with your thoughts and ideas about certain topics and issues, but if they do happen to disagree with you, they'll do it respectfully. More importantly, a real friend respects and supports you unconditionally. Real friends will want you to be happy, and they won't say or do anything to deter you from that. Those are some of the qualities and traits that I think about when I think of a real friend. Everyone has their own personal definition and expectations of what a real friend is, and there's nothing wrong with that at all.

As I pointed out before, I seem to be noticing these days that many people only want to be friends with someone because of what they can do for them. It almost seems like people that carry on like this don't care much about a person for who they are, they're more overly concerned with what you can do for them. The second that you can't do anything for them, they kick you to the curb like a field goal kicker would kick a football through the goal post. Terrible analogy right! At any rate, a lot of these people that aren't sincere in their intentions are not real friends in my opinion. If anything, I would classify people that think and carry on like this as being users, and we all know that there are definitely a lot of those hovering around these days.

There are several points that I want to drive home before ending this week's post. First off, do your research on people before you classify them as a friend of yours. If you want to know how to reveal a person's true intentions, just keep the word "time" in mind. Time truly reveals who is a true friend and who isn't. Secondly, don't be afraid to be your own best friend if need be. When I say be your own best friend, I'm talking about being comfortable with being alone for a bit, and not settling for other people that probably don't have your best interest in mind. Finally, view your life like it's simple math. If someone that you claim to be a friend is too busy for you, or isn't saying or doing anything to empower you, then it's maybe time to subtract them from your life. At the end of the day, everyone that you claim to be your friend should be adding to your life. I'm not adding from a materialistic or getting ahead standpoint. I'm talking about adding to your ideas, and helping you to want to become better.

Alright that's it for this week's edition of 'Brad H.'s Perspective'. I hope that anyone who read this post enjoyed it, and gained some meaning and understanding from it. As with all of my posts, everything mentioned applies to myself. Anything that I've written is what I attempt to apply to my own life. Whether you found it useful or not, I thank you for stopping by and taking out the time to read it. I'm going to go ahead and sign off for this time, so I hope everyone has a great weekend. See you in the next post. Peace!

Life Is About Your Perspective And What You Make Of It.

I have problems, you have problems, we all have problems right? I feel one of the biggest mistakes that a person can make is comparing their problems to those of the next person. My problems are no greater than yours, nor are yours any greater than mine. Some people control their circumstances, while others allow their circumstances to dictate all aspects of their lives. Most of us have heard the saying; "life is what you make it" right? Well, due to several factors currently happening with people that I know, I've been thinking quite a bit about the "life is what you make it" statement. As always, when something weighs fairly heavily on my mind, I have to come on here and write about it ya digg! What up peeps? This is Brad H. back at you once again, and thanks for joining me on this installment of 'Brad H's. Perspective'.

Alright, so we're back at it once again. Hopefully by now you've noticed that I've titled this blog post 'Life Is About Your Perspective And What You Make Of It'. Before going any further, I realize that most of us pay little to no attention to these so-called "comfort cliches". Call me naive or whatever, but I just happen to believe that some of these small cliches that so many of us tend to take for granted can have an effect on our lives in a positive way. Again, that's just my personal opinion. Now, lets get into the meat of what I'll be discussing this time around. As I mentioned, there have been several reasons as of late why this particular topic has been on my mind. However, the primary reason as to why this topic has weighed on me is because I'm noticing how so many people are allowing the various circumstances they're facing to affect their moods, attitudes, and even their relationships with others.

Now from my personal perspective, I believe that it's time for a bit of self-reflection whenever our circumstances are affecting us in the ways I mentioned in the previous paragraph. No one is perfect, and we all deal with and face trials that bring out both the best and worst within ourselves. If you're a person that isn't totally happy in life or with the circumstances you're currently facing, that alone can be enough to mentally break you down; if you allow it to that is. In my opinion, there's not anything wrong with feeling sad or down because you're facing hardships or tough times. However, I believe that there is only a certain level of happiness that a single person can reach, and we must learn to train our minds to be able to handle those less than ideal circumstances that will eventually come our way.

Some people don't need to train themselves, as they're naturally able to face whatever comes at them with conviction. However, for those of us that struggle with our circumstances at times, it is indeed true that life is all about our perspective and how we view things. There's this skit on one of my favorite hip-hop groups (Panacea) album titled 'Thinking Back Looking Forward'. The name of the skit is titled 'Whole World To See'. During the skit, there is a woman talking to a man about how she has never left the village she lives in, and how she must be missing so much out there in the world. What I gathered was that she was in a rough place being stuck in the village. The man replied back to her and says; "Not really. The sky is the sky wherever you go, people are people, always waking you up from a good nap." You're probably wondering how this skit relates to this topic that I'm writing about. Well, what I took from the skit is that the man was trying to tell the woman that she really isn't missing anything beyond where she lives, and that her personal view on life is what determines her happiness. There's a bit of a comedic and lightheartedness element to the skit, but I think there was an undertone in it.

The main and obvious point that I want to make from all of this is that life is really what you make it, and that you don't have to allow whatever circumstances you're dealing with to control or define you. You can always view your life as being bad, but always remember that no matter how bad you believe things are, there's always a possibility that your circumstances can get worse. Furthermore, there's always someone out there that's maybe doing worse than you are, and would trade places with you in a second. It's all about your perspective. Everyone has problems, but it's all about how we view them, and how we choose to handle them.

Well that's it for this edition of 'Brad H's. Perspective'. As with all of my posts, everything that I've written about applies to myself. It's only to be viewed as informative advice that you can use however you see fit. Whether you found it useful or not, I still appreciate you stopping by to check me out. Alright I'm signing out, so I'll see you in the next posting. Peace!
