The Importance Of Finding The Life Formula That Works For You.

The good majority of us have heard of "formulas" as far back as our time as youths going to grade school. If you were someone that went to college at sometime or another, you more than likely have worked with formulas on some level as well. There are various uses of the word formula, and the most likely use of it has to do with math and chemistry. I'd like to think that those are the more well known uses, but there is another definition of formula that can be applied when it comes to how we go about our lives. The definition of formula in regards to this week's topic is the following: "a method, statement, or procedure for achieving something, especially reconciling different aims or positions." Now there could be a variety of ways that this definition is interpreted. However, the key statement in that definition that stands out to me most is "procedure for achieving something." I believe that this is so important because we live in a world that often tends to box us into doing things the same way. We're all expected to use the way that other people have previously done things in order for us to reach our own level of success. Just because a certain way works for one person doesn't always mean that it will work for others. This is one of the reasons why I believe it is of importance to find the formula of life that works for you as an individual.

What's good once again folks? This is Brad H. back in the mix once again, and I'd like to welcome you all to another installment of 'Brad H.'s Perspective'! This is a platform where I give my perspective on a topic that has crossed my mind as of late. I take that topic and try to use it as a way to help keep us motivated in this game of life. Thank you in advance to those of you that have read this far. So now is my soapbox section where I briefly address something that doesn't have to do with the main topic for the week. I'm sure by now that many of you heard of the tragic ending that happened with a so called "Covid" party that took place in San Antonio, Texas. A 30 year old man died from the virus after attending this party. This was a party that was apparently an attempt to prove that the virus was a hoax. I realize that wearing masks are an inconvenience, but think of the healthcare workers that have to wear them everyday for 8 to 12 hours. If you happen to get sick and need to be hospitalized, these are the people that have to take care of you. They are already overworked during this crisis, so why are we making it harder for them? I know it sucks, but please just wear a mask when you go out. Also, please don't be one of these people that think the virus is a hoax and you have to find out the hard way that it's not. Please be safe everyone, and don't tempt fate. Alright, now that I've gotten on my soapbox, lets get into the theme of the week on the importance of finding the formula that works best for you.

One of the main points of interest that has frequently been mentioned on this blog is the fact that we're all unique individuals. That is something that I strongly believe in. I think that most of us can agree that this is a fact, but for whatever reasons that I personally can't understand, there are some people that consistently go against this. You may wonder why I feel this way when it comes to this topic. How many times in your life have you had someone else try and get you to think the way that they do? I'm sure that it has been a countless amount of times for most of you. I'll go even further and ask how many times have you had someone try and get you to do exactly what they have done in order to achieve something? Sounds familiar doesn't it? We live in a world that knows that we're all different in how we handle our approach to life as individuals, yet we consistently try and get others to do things the exact way that someone else has done. From my personal perspective, that doesn't seem like a good standard for individuality, and I personally think that this can be a huge hindrance to the growth of another person.

Now before we go in the summation of the importance of finding the formula of life that works for you as an individual, I want to give a few examples of what we're referring to when we mention the formula. I spoke earlier on how so many people follow the same formula that others have in an attempt to find their own success. So say that we have two individuals that are athletes that play on the same basketball team. One of the players is a early sleeper/early riser. This is a player that goes to bed early and wakes up early. He finds that this way of going about being prepared suits him best. Now lets say the other player is someone that stays up late and wakes up late. However, this player spends the late night looking at film in order to prepare for the game. He finds that sleeping late on game days gives him less time stress over the game. Now most people would likely say that the early riser has the best formula for success. However, lets say that the second player is the one that averages the most points per game. Would the second player average more points if he were similar to player one? Would player one be a better player if he adopted player two's formula? There is absolutely no way of knowing, but I use this example to show that everyone has a different way of going about life that makes them tick.

So we're now at the point of summing up the importance of finding the life formula that works for you. To put it simply and straightforward, following the formula of others may not be the formula for you personally. When we think of math formulas for example, each one is individually tailored to accomplish a specific result. I believe that the same goes for us has human-beings. Also, keep in mind that forcing yourself to adopt a formula that isn't necessarily tailored for your life can lead to a lot of regret. I know and understand that we live in a society that thrives off of pleasing others, and there are ironically some adults in this world that still will go out of their way to make others happy. I also realize that there are going to be times when you may have to concede to the whims of society. However, we have to focus on having the formula that works for us as individuals. Before we close, I want to also stress the importance of not allowing others to shame you for not having a formula that most others are using. People cannot live your life for you, and at the end of the day you are going to be the one looking at your life in the mirror every morning. So lets try not to get caught up in following the formula of everyone else. Find a way of going about your life that works for you and stick with that.

So that's what I got for you all this week. I'm going to go ahead and close this thing out. I would like to once again thank everyone that stopped by for another installment of 'Brad H.'s Perspective'!
