Hezekiah "Conscious Porn"

What's up everyone? It has been a long time since I posted. Months actually. I hope that everyone is doing well and is in the holiday spirit. I'm going to try to keep this blog updated more often. That is going to be one of my new years resolutions. But tonight I wanna discuss an album by an artist from Philadelphia named Hezekiah. The name of the album is "Conscious Porn". I had never heard of Hezekiah before this year. One of my friends who I discuss and trade music with online often told me about him. He sent me the album and I was impressed with the very first listen. Apparently Hezekiah has been labled as being a "concious" hip hop artist. This is his third solo album and apparently its going to be his last. I heard that he is going to focus on producing and writing for other artists. This was honestly one of the best albums I've heard this year. I would highly recommend it for anyone who is a fan of hip hop music. I'm not familiar with Hezekiah's previous albums, but this new one is apparently a huge difference from them. I think there is something for everyone on this album. The production is on point and his lyrics are good as well. In my opinion the stand out tracks on the album are: She Male, All Rays, Cornbread, If This World Were Mine, The Clinic, Hold It Now, Raining, and What Kind of Cool. I easily put this album in the top five I've heard this year. Good underground artists don't get the credit they deserve, so I'm doing my part by spreading the word. Conscious Porn gets 4.5 stars out of five from me. Well hope everyone is doing good, and I hope you enjoyed reading this post. Hope to hit you back soon. Till then take care and stay up.

Family can sometimes be your worse enemies!

Well its been a pretty good while since I last wrote. I honestly don't have much of an excuse besides being lazy lol. I've been feeling kinda down and out lately due to some family issues that have recently been going on. I've always heard the quote "family can sometimes be your biggest enemy", and I used to think that wasn't even possible. Family is supposed to be that support system that you can always count on right? Well after getting a little older and looking back at certain situations I've been in with certain family members, along with things that were done and said recently, have pretty much given me the idea that family can sometimes bring you down quicker than anyone else. I went on facebook a couple of nights ago, and asked "Why is it that family is sometimes your biggest enemies?" One comment I received was "they are the ones closer to you, so they know you best". The more that a person knows about you, the more of a threat they become to you. That doesn't only apply to family, but friends as well. When a person knows your strengths and weaknesses, they can exploit those against you. Now is this the right way to be? Absolutely not! We let people into our lives, and let them know things about us because we trust them and believe in them. We never expect them to use it against us later on down the road. I guess the point that I'm trying to make with this is that be careful of what you tell family members. Also be cautious that just because you share blood with someone, you won't always share ideas and beliefs with them. At the end of the day people are going to look out for themselves, and if that means bringing you down, or even stepping on you they will. This is not a negative topic, its a realistic topic. Well I'm about to end this so I hope everyone has a great night, and hopefully I will start feeling better soon. Take care, peace.

NBA Finals: Game 6.

Anyone who knows me knows that I don't like neither one of these teams in the finals. My dislike like Kobe Bryant goes deeper than my dislike for the Celtics though. I feel I chose the lesser of two evils lol. I just finished watching game 6, and it was an embarrassment for Boston. Its almost like they didn't even attempt to show up. Me and my grandmother were discussing the series the other day, and I told her that I felt like the winner of game 5 would win the series. She promptly replied with one of the funniest things I've heard from her. "WHAT! Let me tell you something, Kobe Bryant will die before he lets Boston beat them in L.A." lol. Maybe she was right. For now I'm just going to say that Kobe is on life support, but game 7 should be very good and interesting. I'm just hoping that Boston ends up on the winning end. This is my first official blog post, so I'm just trying to get a feel for it. Hope everyone has a great night.
