Are you comfortable in your own skin?

Hello once again. This is ya boy Brad H. coming back at you again. It's another Sunday night, and this is another installment of Brad H's Perspective. I hope that everyone is doing well and had a great week. It's always a blessing to live to see another day. It's also a blessing to be able to start another week ahead. Tonight I want to discuss something that I've been thinking about during the week. I told myself earlier when I was running that I would write on this topic. This topic first begins with a question. The question I want to ask is; how many of us are really comfortable in our own skin? I know many of you have heard of this saying before. Many times we say we are comfortable and satisfied with who we are, but are we really? Is it only at certain times, or do we just say we are to make ourselves feel better? Lets delve into it a bit.

I heard something on a television show not too long ago that struck me as being very very interesting. This woman on the show told one of her friends that real happiness starts within ourselves, and that anyone else in our lives are supposed to enhance that happiness. I found this to be a profound and honest statement. So much so that I've been telling almost everyone that I know about it, with most of them agreeing with it. So many of us are quick to say we are happy with ourselves, but as soon as a situation becomes tough or uncomfortable, we are looking to others for support. Don't get me wrong, I think it's important to have support at a lot of times in our lives. However, many of us suffer from a lack of faith in ourselves. We are not always willing to challenge ourselves when times get rough. Too many of us are afraid be alone in some instances. People are not always going to be around for us. We have to learn to make decisions and choices on our own sometimes. Some people claim to be comfortable with themselves, but act differently or put up a front when they get around certain people. A person who is comfortable in their own skin stays true to who they are regardless of who is around, or what happens in life.

Another thing I have noticed is a lot of people trying to fit in with what the world is doing. The thought of not being in the "in crowd" is a scary thought for some people, and they will do almost anything to feel accepted by others. I feel that a person who is truly happy with themselves doesn't fear loneliness or being criticized by others. The most important thing that we need to keep in mind is to be who we really are at all times. We shouldn't worry about fitting in with what everyone else is doing. Like the saying goes, "real recognize real". If we be the person that we truly are, there will be people who are doing the same thing who will notice. Those are the people we need to surround ourselves around. So what if certain friends turn their backs on us? Don't worry about it. Keep on pushing forward and find new friends that will have your back and share some of the interests you have. Life is never limited to just one or a few things. There are a number of various people in the world that will be accepting of you really are. We have to love ourselves first.

Lets focus on being comfortable within ourselves first. Lets not always look towards others for our happiness. At the end of the day faith in ourselves is all we need. Well that's it for this installment of Brad H's Perspective. I hope it was able to touch someone. Keep in mind that my blog posts are a challenge to myself as well. I'm looking to grow and become a better person. Hopefully during that process, I'm able inspire others as well. I hope to see you all in the next installment. Till then, I hope everyone has a great week ahead. Peace, love, and blessings to all.

Lets keep it moving!

What's up people? It's ya man Brad H. coming back at you once again. Can you digg it? Yea I know you can. Hope everyone is doing well and keeping your heads up high. It's a sunny Sunday afternoon and I felt it was time for me to write about something that I've been thinking about heavily for the last week or so. I actually wanted to write on this subject earlier in the week, but I'm just now getting around to doing it. Hey better late than never right? Anyway, I want to talk about a phrase that I find myself using a lot these days. It's the phrase "Keep it moving". That's exactly what each of us needs to do in life, keep on moving forward. However, moving forward can sometimes be a daunting task for many of us. Often times certain things and circumstances from our past, and even sometimes in our present try to keep us from pressing forward. Regardless as to what we are dealing with in our lives, we can't allow them to deter us from going on.

So what are some of the things that hold us back from "keeping it moving"? Well like I mentioned before circumstances play a huge factor. No one individual is in the same situation or circumstances. Many times we feel like we are trapped in situations that we can't seem to find our way out of. It's not only limited to situations; people can sometimes play a factor as well. There are some people in this world that will do or say anything they can to bring us down. It seems like this world now brings way more negativity from people than positive energy. This can greatly affect our self-esteem, which in turn can keep us from moving forward. Now as bad as these things I mentioned are, they can all be overcome; that is only if we want to get through them. No hurdles or obstacles are too great to be beaten. We can only defeat them if we want. In order to "keep it moving", it all begins within ourselves.

The next time that something disappointing happens, lets make the effort to keep it moving. Fellas, next time you approach a woman that looks attractive to you and she doesn't seem very interested, keep it moving. The same thing goes for you ladies. If you know you're a good woman and a man doesn't appreciate you, keep it moving. Next time someone says something negative to you in order to beat you down, keep it moving. There is so much better out there for us, and we won't see the better if we allow the worse keep us down. I won't sit here and pretend like I'm an expert at this. Like everyone else I struggle with things also. However, I will admit that I've gotten better at keeping it moving. I don't let thing that used to beat me down get to me like they once did. However, there is always room for improvement.

Well that's it for this time peeps. I hope anyone who read this found a bit of inspiration. I also want to apologize for not keeping up with posting my ten hubs that I mentioned in my previous blog post. I'm still posting them, I just haven't been able to do it in the time span I originally mentioned. I'm also going to try to write on this blog at least once a week. I'm aiming for posting every Sunday like I did with this one. Hopefully, I will be able to stick with it, so we'll see how that goes. Well you all take care, stay up, and continue to keep it moving. Till next time peace, love, and blessings.

My personal 10 Hubs in 10 Days Challenge.

Hello once again folks. It's ya man Brad H. coming back at you again. I'm coming to you on a rainy Monday evening here in Texas. I can't speak for everyone else, but rainy days provide little motivation to do much. However, we can't let the rain keep us from doing what we got to do. At any rate I hope this reaches you all in good health and spirits. Today's post is going to be fairly brief and straight to the point. It's about a personal challenge that I embarked on almost two weeks ago. I called it the "10 Hub in 10 Days Challenge".

Some of you know or may be familiar with the passion that I've developed for blogging. The website, Hubpages is one of the sites that I blog on. I've been writing on Hubpages for around 7 months. Up until I decided to do this challenge I set for myself, I had written 19 hubs. Hubs are the name given to articles on Hubpages. I've been looking for a way to become more motivated to write on Hubpages, so I set the 10 Hubs in 10 Days Challenge for myself. Now before I go any further, I want to say that there is another challenge that many other writers on Hubpages do. It's called the "30 Hubs in 30 Days Challenge". The name of this challenge is pretty self-explanatory like the one I made for myself. I'll talk more about the 30 day challenge in a bit.

I wanted to set a challenge for myself that I feel would challenge me, but would also allow me to reach it as well. As I mentioned in previous posts, you don't have to go all out everyday in reaching your goals. Small goals and small steps are key. Three days into my personal challenge, I posted a question on Hubpages asking if anyone wanted to join me on the challenge. I received two responses, and one of the writers decided to do the challenge with me. Now I personally found this to be a great thing. Not only did I have someone else encouraging me to finish out this task, but I was helping to motivate someone else also. I love it when support comes from someone else, or a group of other individuals. This is something that I actually wrote about in one of my hubs.

Now that I've finished the challenge, I'm going to be posting the 10 articles on my blog for anyone who wants to read them. I'll be posting one article daily until all ten are posted. I want to give a special thanks to Hubpages user http://karenhellier.hubpages.com/. She is the writer who took the challenge with me. We've corresponded several times through e-mail, and we've both decided to tackle the 30 Hubs in 30 Days Challenge. She is the person who inspired me to want to take on this new challenge. We are planning on starting the challenge in June, so I'm going to start preparing myself to be ready. I'm definitely up for it. Well that's it for today folks. I'll start posting articles tomorrow. If you want to read my hubs, you can read them at http://prospectboy.hubpages.com/. I'm also going to be adding a widget from Hubpages to my blog, so you can read my material that way as well. Well take care everyone, and I will be back soon. Till then, peace and blessings to all.
