Happy New Year, and setting daily goals.

Hello once again. It's me Brad H. coming back at you again. First off I want to say Happy New Year to everyone who reads this. I hope the year 2012 brings you much happiness, and peace. I know many of you have made resolutions for the New Year. I will admit that I normally do myself. However, I'm not making any resolutions for 2012. I'm beginning to learn and feel that making New Year resolutions are becoming an excuse to keep putting off things we can do today. Procrastination is something that we do often, so no resolutions for me this year. Instead I'm going to focus on what I'm going to discuss tonight, which is setting small daily goals.

I'm sure many of you have heard the saying "slow and steady wins the race". If you think about it, we can apply this to our lives on a daily basis. Most of us think and dream big. Especially in America. In this country people admire those who have the bigger and finer things in life. Now I don't think there is anything wrong with thinking big, or aiming high. However, many of us set goals that may be a little too big for ourselves. When we do this, we put added pressure on ourselves to reach them. Then if for some reason we don't reach these big goals we aim for, we feel like failures. Why not focus on setting small goals daily towards a bigger goal? Focusing on a specific goal can be a good thing, but doing this can also hinder us. Time is precious and valuable, and if we are spending too much of our time on one big thing, we are missing out on other things we can do to better ourselves.

I think we need break our goals down into smaller pieces in order to reach them. Doing a little bit daily can go a long way. That is how I'm going to approach things for my life this year. Lets work on breaking the cycle of procrastination. I know it can be done if we stay motivated and disciplined. Remember slow and steady wins the race. The rabbit moves fast, but remember that he came in last after the turtle. Well that's it for tonight. I hope that you all brought New Years in happy and safe. New Years was great for me this year. My godmother, her husband, and my great Aunt all came down for New Years this year. She brought her other godson also. We had a great time with my other family members bringing in the New Year. The year 2011 had it's ups and downs just like any other year. Lets put all of that behind us now, and lets make 2012 the best year of our lives through daily goals and living. See you all in the next post.
